Trekking in Andros
Small mountain ranges characterize the terrain of Andros. These ranges end abruptly with small valleys often creating deep gorges, hosts the island’s plentiful water springs. Trekking in Andros is becoming very popular. Andros is characterized by numerous types of habitat and niche, with special examples of rock formations, many wetlands, hard-leaf evergreen Mediterranean forests, and deciduous forests.
The climate and biography of the island influence the natural environment. Nice hikes can be made in springtime, when the scenery is a feast of colours from wild flowers and brushwood. Rare and protected species of flora are present on the island making hiking expeditions in Andros a must!
Many ancient paths cross the Island landscape. They follow natural paths in the mountain, passing through villages, monasteries, and streams. Andros is truly a trekker’s paradise.
River trekking is the new trend in Andros. Achla to Vourkoti being the highlight.

6. Vourkotí - Profítis Ilías - Agii Saránta or Vourkotí - Arni - Katákilos - Batsí
